For my first 23 years I was Jill Lonski, Then I took my husband’s last name and became Jill Foster.
As she, I became a mother, a kindergarten teacher, an owner of a 1903 aged farm home, and lastly a collector past relatives’ life stories. With this last item, I had help. My husband’s grandmother, Frances Cabell Coursen Perritt left me her family history collections.
I have the blue scrapbook kept by Frances. She lived on the Oregon coast where the Salmon River empties into the Pacific Ocean. She lived with a somewhat crabby man named Marion Perritt who was her second husband. Grandmother Frances Ann Cabell Coursen Perritt showed me the old blue scrapbook once long ago. I was 21 years old and dating her grandson, Craig Foster. Now I wish I had gone over the pages and written down every word she said. In 2005 when my mother-in- law Rose Coursen Foster died the old blue scrapbook came into my possession. I started prying into the memories it held. This is when I began writing about the Coursen-Cabell family. In 2025, I am writing posts for 52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks
